THE
HISTORY OF THE AUSTRALIAN CUP
VHS (PAL)
DVD
The history of
the Australian Cup is available on either DVD or VHS great value at $35 plus $5
for postage and handling.
THE Australian Cup has
always been the most sought after event on the greyhound calendar.
Since its inception in 1958 greyhound owners, trainers and breeders have always
looked for that special canine good enough to win the race and fulfil lifelong
ambitions.
Because to win the race tagged the “Cup of Dreams” means that life in greyhound
racing will never be the same.
And that has been the case for many winners of the race over the past 47 years
of competition.
Victors such as Allan Fairlie with Listowel Sue in 1977, whom he purchased for
$200 after winning $175 on a quinella or Graeme Jolly, who purchased a greyhound
establishment after rank outsider Mandatario scored in 1999.
These are just two of the lucky ones to snare the Holy Grail of greyhound racing
and have their lives changed forever in the process.
The complete stories of Allan Fairlie and Graeme Jolly are just two of many told
in the recently completed “ History of the Australian Cup” , released on DVD and
VHS.
The compilation of the DVD, which has taken almost four years to complete, tells
the story behind the stories of the Australian Cup and includes an abundance of
footage and photos never before seen in greyhound racing.
Put together by well known greyhound identities Neil Brown, Peter Bryce and Eric
Glazner the double DVD provides viewers with more than three and a half hours of
interviews, race replays and a historical look at the great race.
Eric Glazner earned a strong reputation in journalism and his talents along with
those of media front man Neil Brown and video producer and track photographer
Peter Bryce have left no stone unturned in their endeavour to tell the greatest
story ever about the Australian Cup.
Neil said that the Australian Cup project was one of the hardest that the three
have ever taken on board.
“We have dug, delved and gone to all parts of Australia to put together the
story behind the race itself.
“It was a huge job to track down a lot of the people involved, however, we
always wanted to tell the full story and not just a brief history on the race.
“The reason it has taken this long is that it was put on the backburner a couple
of times because of other commitments, however, I can assure you that all three
of us are very glad and excited that we can now release it to the entire
greyhound fraternity,” he said.
The history of the Australian Cup is available on either DVD or VHS and is great
value at $35 plus $5 for postage and handling.
It is without doubt the most comprehensive coverage ever undertaken on not just
a greyhound event but an historical look at greyhound racing itself and the
evolution of a million-dollar industry.
If you are passionate about greyhound racing this production is certainly a must
for your collection.
